Stripping
We have complete capabilities to remove paint, rust, chrome and other plating as well as grease or oils from virtually any metal surface. These processes are necessary
prior to re-plating and we can also prepare your parts for painting or powder coating.
Polishing
Almost all metals require polishing prior to plating operations (zinc plating does not usually require a highly-polished surface). By smoothing the metal, a glossy shine and even coverage can be achieved. For a different look, satin polishing may be used. We can also polish solid metals such as brass, bronze, copper, silver, gold, stainless and aluminum.
Repairs
Our staff is able to repair your metal pieces expertly from welding, soldering, straightening, filling to replacing tabs or other related work.
Effects
Plating Specialties, LLC, can create almost any variation of any finish. One of our
most popular effect is brushed or satin texture. The satin process adds a lined pattern in the metal, much like that of a stainless steel kitchen sink. Textures can be coarse or fine; on a plated piece, bright or dull. On polished metals such as stainless or aluminum, the resulting finish will be dull.
Antiquing & Patina
We can plate an item with a bright finish - then make it look old and weathered again!
Colors vary, but two available colors are black and brown. Once plated, the antiquing solution is applied, then brushed until the desired tone is achieved before clear
coating is applied. We can match many custom finishes with provided samples.
